A new credential opens the door to a new career path, advancement in your current field, or continued education—and you may be able to get it for little or no cost. The South Dakota Board of Technical Education has developed South Dakota UpSkill in response to the workforce challenges caused by COVID-19.

Supporting a Stronger South Dakota

UpSkill programs are available to individuals who are eligible for re-employment assistance and been deemed dislocated workers in South Dakota. In a time marked by uncertainty, individuals can take concrete steps to prepare for re-employment and meet the needs of our state economy.

All UpSkill certificates relate to high-demand fields in South Dakota—marketing, health care, information technology, and more.

Primarily 18-Credit Programs

Credits from these programs can even integrate with Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Bachelor's degree programs at public institutions throughout the state.
